Training and placement

The Placement Cell at CK College of Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the careers of its students. With a focus on providing comprehensive career guidance, the cell ensures that over 90% of students benefit from its services. It organizes campus interviews, career counselling sessions, and personality development workshops. Additionally, the cell maintains strong ties with Edu tech companies, alumni and renowned institutions, facilitating numerous job opportunities. The dedicated committee, led by the college principal, works diligently to prepare students for successful careers in education and beyond.

Objectives

  • To create awareness among students about careers and the preparation required to achieve.

  • To impart with the necessary skills to face the selection process with confidence.

Activities

  • Identifying potential companies and Institutions for recruiting the students through Campus Placement.

  • Contacting the Human Resource Professionals of renowned Institutions.

  • Keeping the students informed about the job description, eligibility criteria and selection process of the visiting Institutions for campus recruitment.

  • Follow up with the Institution for placement process, feedback about the performance of our students in the selection process and on the job.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Organizing Campus Interviews for all Final Year Students.

  • Conducting value added courses for all Pre-Final Years.

  • Assisting with Departments in providing “Value Added Courses”.

  • Conducting “Online Assessment to Students” and analysing results for performance improvements.

  • Conducting “10 days Campus Readiness Program” every year as a holistic approach for final year students, during the month of June which includes Aptitude Skills, Verbal, Logical Skills, GD, Mock Interviews.

  • Several “Career Guidance Program”, reasoning tests, aptitude tests, Puzzle Solving, Group Discussions, Mock Interviews, Brainstorming Sessions, Core Discussion, Pick and Speak, Communication Skill Development programmes are organized on a regular basis in order to motivate and develop the personality of the students.

WORKSHOP:

CK College of Education yearly conducts a workshop focusing on career placement and resume building, aimed at equipping students with essential skills for their professional journeys. The workshop provide practical guidance on crafting effective resumes tailored to educational roles, emphasizing key details and formatting. Additionally, students received insights into strategies for successful career placement, including interview preparation and networking tips. 

This initiative reflects CK College of Education's commitment to preparing students for meaningful careers in education through targeted workshops and hands-on guidance.

A workshop on resume building was conducted on May 28,2024 by MS. PRIYADHARSHINI, Director – LOTS OF LEARNING ACADAMEY. This workshop is fully based on points how to build a professional resume for student teachers. The session commenced with an introduction to the importance of an elaborate resume, highlighting the role of resumes in securing job interviews and the need for preparing a CV based on the specific requirements of the education sector. This session emphasized the key components of an effective resume, including personal details, career objectives, teaching experience, skills and certifications. Examples of resumes were shown to students to illustrate how to highlight achievements and responsibilities in the CV. Overall, the resume writing session for B.Ed. students provided an opportunity to enhance their understanding of writing an effective resume.

As part of the value-added course "Being Job Perfect," our faculty from our sister institution CKCET conducted a session titled "Mastering the Interview Process." During this session, students were guided on understanding that an interview serves as a critical tool to evaluate a candidate's suitability for both the role and the organization. Emphasis was placed on the importance of thorough preparation for interviews, covering various stages and considerations. The session provided insights into common interview questions typically asked and strategies for effectively answering them. It concluded with an interactive discussion where students had the opportunity to address their queries regarding interviews and anticipated questions.
